Amended route

We are still in UK, either the weather is too windy for us to cross or our new pilot has commitments he can't change, we are now looking for Monday 22nd July afternoon, so fingers crossed!

We have had to amend our planned route to Auxerre as the Seine south of Paris is having maintenance work on four of its locks at the end of August for at least month. This means we can't use that route to get to Auxerre, so see below our new route.  We will plan to visit Paris next year.

We have had some lovely days here at Shepperton, we've got our bikes out from the engine room, they were safely stored there in preparation for our crossing but as its been so hot, it is easier to cycle than walk.  They are new fold up bikes and we love them, they are made by Tern, specialists in folding bikes, 24 gears, fab to ride, even in the heat we've been having.  We have cycled some of the Thames Path, been shopping at Tescos and you soon realise you have to think twice about how much you can transport on a bike.

We hope to move off tomorrow to moor at Teddington, if we get the go ahead from Mark our pilot and we will then be able to start packing our breakable belongings in preparation for our crossing.
